Overall everyone was super nice and the questions were totally relevant to the job. The technical interviews were all verbal, no live coding was involved. It started with a Recruiter call, then a Manager intro call to see potential fit, and then three technical interviews with teammates.

Behavioral Technical System Design

The interview process included: a recruiter phone screen, an interview with the team manager, a soft skills-type interview with two dev leads, a discussion with a designer about process, working with product, and collaboration, a quasi-technical interview with an engineer, a system design interview, and a final discussion with the head of engineering. It was a bit unusual because I only met the team lead and the designer who would be working with the team; everyone else I interviewed was from a different team.

Behavioral Technical

It started with a quick 20-minute chat with the recruiter. After that, I had a 30-minute Zoom call with the engineering manager where we talked about my preferences and went over my professional background and past projects. Finally, there were two back-to-back 45-minute interviews: the first was behavioral, and the second was technical, where I had to walk through one of my past projects.

  • Tell me about the hardest time you had working with a team and how you handled it.
