HR Partner
My interview process started with a recruiter phone screen, then a group interview with two peers, and wrapped up with a final chat with the head of people. The recruiter was really upfront about the whole process and even shared some challenges they'd faced hiring for this spot, which I appreciated. She did a good job of selling the company and the job. The group interview was pretty eye-opening though. When I asked about their favorite thing about the job, both just said 'working remotely.' Not the team, not the work itself, just the remote aspect. I still met with the head of people, and it became clear why the peers felt that way. The head of people was late, seemed totally checked out, and mostly talked about themselves and what they needed from someone in this role. They came across as disorganized and a bit condescending.
- How can you quickly build trusting relationships with stakeholders in this new position?
Data Scientist
So they really don't value a candidate's time. It started with a recruiter call, then they sent this big project to do over two days. They said there would be a hiring manager interview about the project. I spent hours on it, submitted it, and then heard nothing for a week. I had to reach out to ask what was going on. Then I got an automated rejection email. It didn't even mention the project and said the team liked meeting me, but I never met anyone. I wouldn't suggest this place.
- Could you perform an analysis and build a predictive model using an open dataset available on BigQuery?
Director, Business Development
So the interview process started with a 30-minute phone call with the recruiter. Then, I had a 45-minute video call with the hiring manager. After that, the recruiter sent over a business case study to prepare for the next round. The third round involved video call interviews with four different team members – from product, marketing, and finance – each about 30 minutes long. Finally, there was another 30-minute video call with the hiring manager to recap and ask questions.
- Can you share your experience in business development related to product development?
- Could you describe your approach to tackling a business case study?
Production Manager
The interview process was smooth, friendly, and gave me good information, and all in all it was thorough. I liked that it didn't take ages over months and quarters, but was good at finding the right person and making sure they had the right qualities, which isn't always true for fast-growing tech companies. It was effective in identifying a best fit for a candidate and having a very clear idea for what qualities that individual embodies.
