The interview process wasn't great. I showed up on time and was told they weren't ready for me yet. The store manager then spent another 5-10 minutes chatting with another employee while I waited and looked around the store. During the interview itself, the manager didn't seem very engaged with my responses and barely made eye contact. I was informed that the process in Canada is lengthier because the company is US-based and that there's typically another interview with the district manager. When I called to follow up after two weeks, I was told they were 'still interviewing,' which is fine, but the person sounded put out by my inquiry. They practically hung up on me after I thanked them, without even a goodbye or 'you're welcome.'

It started with a face-to-face interview with the District Manager, then a couple of phone screenings with the HR rep and the Regional Vice President. I got the job offer within 3 weeks from the first interview. If you know your stuff and can show you can navigate their tricky line between impropriety and Spencer's Culture, you're golden. Their mission statement kicks off with 'Life's a Party.' Just remember, partying is their business, and business has to make money.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was pretty straightforward. It started with a district manager interview, followed by a regional phone interview, and then an HR phone interview. The offer came through after a few days. Since I was already employed, onboarding wasn't necessary. A background check was initiated. The training period spanned one week. For newer design stores, training is extended to two weeks, covering operational and administrative aspects in the first week, and visual training in the second.
