I applied online through Speedway's website. A recruiter named Jason called me and did a quick phone interview and told me about the job. Then he wanted to set up an in person interview with the District Manager, who was the hiring manager. We scheduled it. I interviewed with the DM and it went well, and I got an offer later that week.

I went to a job fair at the store and talked to a recruiter. We went over my resume and availability, and they said the regional manager would call me. The interview with the regional manager was straightforward, asking about my past retail experience and expectations. They explained their training, and I was told to expect an offer call from the recruiter. I accepted the offer, but then there was a 3-4 week wait for paperwork and to set up my training store and GM. The offer itself was quick, but getting to the actual start date took a while, enough time to give notice but long enough to make me wonder if I was really hired.

Got a call the day after applying and set up to meet with the DM. They kept mentioning the pay ($2 above minimum wage) and the 50-hour work week expectation. The interview was in a small, cold, moldy office and felt like an interrogation with standard situational questions. I was sick that day, and it just didn't feel right. I didn't hear back, which happens a lot.
