General Manager
File online and then you get contacted and interviewed by the district manager or HR. This is if you're not a current employee wanting to move up.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
General Manager
I went through two interviews for this role, starting with a phone interview. There was also a background check and drug screening. The whole process took about 4 weeks to get an offer. Communication about the interviews was pretty sparse; I had to go to two different stores, driving over an hour each time, and the staff didn't even know I was coming. It was the same when I needed to get a drug test form – the staff were unprepared and didn't have the form at the store where I was supposed to pick it up.
- Can you share your biggest achievement from your previous job?
General Manager
It was a three stage process. First, I had a recruiter interview over the phone. Then, the district manager interviewed me in-store, discussing my past management experience and hypothetical situations. Finally, the regional manager interviewed me at the regional office about management techniques, employee coaching, and my professional goals.
- Tell me about your experience coaching underperforming employees.
- Describe some of your customer service experiences.
