The interview process was quite lengthy. It started with an HR representative. Following that, there were two technical interviews with a senior team member. The first technical interview involved a straightforward coding exercise. The second technical interview was more conversational, focusing on how to address real-world problems the team has faced. After these, I was scheduled to meet with the CTO. The process concluded with a cross-functional interview. Unfortunately, I was rejected via email an hour before my final interview, which was unexpected given how far I had progressed.

My experience mirrors others but I made it past all three interviews and references were requested. She initially scheduled a time with on reference but never called at the scheduled time. She ended up calling her a couple of days later. There was difficulty getting a hold of my second reference so an additional was requested. I provided two additional. No one ever called either of them. I sent a follow up email to ensure there were no issues. No response. Sent another a week later and no response. I sent another email the following week asking for feedback if I was no longer a candidate with no response. I find this highly unprofessional and such a waste of a candidate’s time.

First, there was a take-home assignment that required a lot of research on CA leave of absence and tax laws, taking about 3 hours. After that, I had a 30-minute call with a recruiter who seemed uninterested and read from a script. I was told I'd hear back in 2-3 days, but I had to wait over a week and email them myself to find out if I was still being considered. I received a canned response saying they were not moving forward, with no explanation. This felt like a waste of time given the company's claims about hiring the right people, especially for an entry-level role with low pay that required a take-home and multiple interviews.

The whole hiring process was a good experience. The hiring manager was clear and kept me in the loop the whole time, which was great. They told me what to expect at each step. All the interviewers I talked to were nice and helpful, and made me feel relaxed so we could talk openly. They told me a lot about the job and the company culture, and how I could help the team. I really liked how supportive everyone was during the interviews. They listened to my questions and shared their own experiences, which gave me a good feel for the work environment. It made me feel like they cared about me as a candidate, and I left each chat more excited about the job. The team seemed really focused on finding the right person, not just someone with the right skills, which made me want to join even more.
