Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sovos.
Analyst
So I applied and got an email saying my background was good and that they wanted to move forward. The next steps were two tests. The first was a personality test with questions like 'do you work well with others?' with 5 answer options from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree. Then there was a timed test with 50 questions that felt more like the SATs, with logic and pattern recognition questions, not really related to the job or my background. A week later, I got an email saying they decided to go with other candidates whose qualifications were a better fit, even though we never actually talked about my skills or the role.
- Do you work well with others?
Analyst
The process was really good, it made the candidate feel very comfortable talking! Everyone was excellent! It starts with HR, then the team, then the manager, and if approved, it's finalized. Everything they share in the interview is 100% realistic. A sensational company!
- Can you tell me about your personal life and your hobbies?
Technical Analyst
I first talked to the recruiter, then the scrum master. After that, I had to take an IQ test, but they didn't know how it was scored, so they couldn't tell me how I did. The scrum master wasn't ready for the interview and didn't even know I was coming. They said they'd let me know in a day if they wanted to move forward, but I didn't hear back for a week. I had to reach out to them. The business seems disorganized, but the people were nice and seemed to like their jobs.
- Could you take an IQ test?
- Why did you apply for this position?
- Can you tell me about this job?
