First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southwire.
Supervisor
The recruiter took a really long time, and honestly, I would have looked for another opportunity because it took so long and there was no contact while I was waiting. The recruiter couldn't answer any of my questions.
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
- Were you in a supervisory role before?
- Please share details about a previous challenging role.
Marketing Intern
I had a call with the recruiter and then a meeting with the hiring manager a few days later. I received my offer a couple of hours after my interview. It was completely behavioral and was focused on previous accomplishments and them gauging my capabilities.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Have you ever used this particular software?
- What made you interested in our company?
Product Specialist
The interview process had 4 rounds. It wasn't too hard compared to other places that have lots of tests. Everyone was really nice! After the final interview, I didn't hear back for about a month, but I did get an offer in the end. It was kind of weird to get an offer without ever visiting the office, especially since I lived so close. By that point, I had another offer with a much higher salary, so I tried to negotiate. They wouldn't even talk about renegotiating the pay and gave me a 3-hour deadline to accept or decline. I felt like just a number, not someone they were really interested in. So I declined and took a job where they were very eager for me to join. Overall, it was a good interview experience and everyone seemed happy there!
- How would you handle competing priorities?
Accounts Receivable Clerk
The interview process was good overall, although it did take a while. First, there was a phone screening, and then about two weeks later, I had a panel interview with the department heads. It felt pretty casual and light-hearted. They asked a lot of behavioral questions. The job isn't set to start until a month after you get selected.
- Could you share an instance of a past failure?
- Can you describe a time when you were successful?
