It was a long but thorough interview process. The DON was upfront about the role and expectations. We discussed the types of patients seen at the clinic and common medications. They also talked about the company's future plans and direction. My experience in mental health, and the distinction between inpatient and outpatient settings, were also covered. I genuinely enjoyed meeting the DON and the interview itself, which felt somewhat informal.

It started with a recruiter call to talk about my education, experience, and salary expectations. Then there was a group interview with about 3 other people. The whole thing took about 2 weeks before the first interview. I got called back for a second interview after another 2 weeks. In that second interview, I had to do a data project and then present it to the group.

I went through a lot of paperwork and a background check, including a drug screening. It took about a month from the interview process to actually starting the job, which felt like a really long and tedious time. The HR paperwork was extensive, and then I had a group interview where different employees asked me a bunch of questions back-to-back and seemed to be judging my answers before extending an offer. I also had to wait until a month later to start work, and only after attending an orientation.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Tell me why you want to work here and where you're from. Also, answer some questions about how you handle specific job functions.
  • Can you handle the job as described? The shifts are usually in the morning, but you'd be working the later shift to cover the front office. I said I would prefer that over an early shift.

You'll interview with the team supervisor and site manager at the same time. They'll ask you about your experience and give you some hypothetical situations. They usually schedule a bunch of candidates each day for a week. They don't make an offer until they've talked to everyone and reviewed their notes to compare candidates.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you share an experience where you had a difficult situation with a mentally ill client, detailing the actions you took and how it was resolved?
