Post Release Worker
The HR Recruiter and the interviewers in the next stage were both really open, professional, and clear. All the communication was easy to understand and explained well. They had good questions ready, and their attention to detail was top-notch.
- Can you describe your experience working with young people?
Functional Family Therapist
I was contacted by HR for a phone interview with the RED and clinic supervisor. It went well and I was told I'd be contacted within two weeks. The RED told me to reapply to another position opening in a month as they were moving forward with other applicants. I reapplied and was contacted by the RED for a second phone interview. I thought it went well but I guess they didn't feel that way. What I really did not like is that although they did not want to hire me they also did not let me know that I was not selected. It was several days after my follow up email I got a response. I feel like this was so unprofessional and inconsiderate too. I don’t feel like applying there again or speaking to these people again if this is how I am going to be treated. I also felt like these people were a little bit too aggressive. Kind of turned me off from wanting to work with them to be honest.
- Can you tell me about your clinical experience?
- What do you know about Functional Family Therapy?
- What's your experience with FFT?
Trainer
The first interview was a sit down with the department manager. The second interview involved a sample presentation to a group of other trainers and the manager. The atmosphere wasn't very friendly; it was an all-women group and morale seemed very low. The organization itself seems questionable, focusing on providing housing and resources to immigrant children of various ages who are housed in what look like detention centers where they rarely get outside. I wasn't comfortable working for this type of organization.
- How do you feel about training staff who are burnt out and resistant?
- Would you be alright with driving to one site, picking up the company car, and then traveling to another part of the county to conduct trainings, even during late evenings?
- Are you okay with the pay being hourly rather than a salary?
Youth Care Worker
The interview process went smoothly and I was hired on the spot. The training lasted one week, and then I started working. There are no benefits, but the pay is okay for the amount of work. Everyone there is really nice. The cons are the rotating shifts. The leadership is great, but the coworkers are not the best. So far, I like it, but I wish there were more activities for the children and more outings.
- What would you do in various situations presented to you?
