First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SouthState.
Intern
Had 2 interviews over zoom. The first was 20 minutes and the second was 45 minutes with more people. They asked basically the same questions in both. It wasn't super hard and they were very easy to talk to.
- Can you tell me about yourself and walk me through your resume?
Intern
This was very behavioral focused and not technical. You should prep by understanding your life story and why you want to work in finance and also why banking in general. Overall not hard just make sure to come prepared.
- What is one strength you have?
Intern
The interview process was super unprofessional. The interviewer was 30 minutes late for the first round interview and didn't inform me they were running behind. When they finally showed up, they were chewing. The interview went well and they offered me a second-round interview, and we confirmed a date and time. However, I never got a confirmation email. I reached out multiple times, saw my peers get offers, but still no reply. I'm not sure if it was a new recruiter or why this happened, but 3 months later I got an email saying the position was filled. As a college student who works full-time and made space for the interview, it was disappointing that the interviewer was late and chewing, especially when I sent numerous emails trying to get answers. It felt like my emails weren't even seen. Extremely disappointing.
- Why are you interested in working here?
