First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SouthState.
Universal Banker
The interview process was quick and straightforward. They inquired about my previous experience and provided details about the role. The manager's part of the interview wasn't very intensive; it felt relaxed and enjoyable, but it's still important to treat it seriously.
- Can you discuss your previous work history?
Credit Analyst
The interviews were pretty basic, mostly behavioral questions and some accounting knowledge. It was more like a conversation to see if you fit their culture and team. There was one phone call at the beginning, then a Zoom meeting with multiple people.
- What motivates your interest in working at Southstate?
Vice President
Started with a 30 minute Phone screen which ran through all of the typical qualification questions and high level details about the position. From there the process went into a virtual interview with the individual who was currently in the role moving internally and the Hiring Manager. The final step of the process was to meet in person with the Hiring Manager as well as the Director of the business line.
- How would you assess and develop talent when building a team?
Commercial Credit Analyst
I applied online and heard back via email about scheduling a video call within 1-2 weeks. It was nice that my info was passed along without multiple phone calls. The video call was with 3 managers and it was very professional. After the interview, I got a personal call saying they hired someone else. Overall, I was happy with the experience.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- What prompted you to leave your current job?
- Do you consider yourself competitive?
