First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southern Illinois University.
Graduate Assistant
I had a phone call with different staff members. They called me back within a few days. It's a great opportunity. The staff I spoke with were nice and gave me information. I had enough time to get back to them about accepting the job. They let me know about any changes to the offer.
- What is your professional philosophy?
Graduate Assistant
It was a standard graduate school interview process that lasted a full day. I met with current students and faculty, and had dinner with current students. I was able to tour the campus. There were about 7 other students interviewing that weekend. I got the offer two days after the interview. I liked the interview.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next decade?
Graduate Assistant
The interview process was quite enjoyable. They were interested in my experience with different cultures and sought someone willing to take on any task. My boss was also involved in all activities, so it wasn't like I was doing all the difficult work alone.
