It was a structured panel interview, very scored and meticulous. They focused on the job's specifics and general values. It lasted two hours. The panel wants to compare candidates uniformly, so we went through each question line by line. Each panel member asked a different question. It was a three-person panel after a one-on-one interview. Then we discussed salary, with negotiation happening after the offer.

So, it's really tough to get into SCE and they don't always pick the most qualified person. Lots of internal politics and biases, I bet. This was my second time applying. After the recruiter chat and maybe some online personality test, you'll have a Teams interview with three senior managers. They'll hit you with 5-6 multi-part situational questions that are pretty generic and not really tied to the specific job. You gotta make them relevant yourself using your understanding of the job description. Take your time thinking and answering. They start to sound alike. Prep by making a spreadsheet with 15-20 situational questions and writing answers using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Stick to that format! The interviewers will have poker faces. I got another generic rejection email three weeks later, which really stung since I thought I aced it. Maybe I was overqualified? I'm done with SCE after this.

Okay so first you gotta apply on the SCE website, and then you need to be checking your email super often, like twice a day. Next, you'll get an email to do some testing, and they give you study guides for it, which is nice. After that, they'll call or email you to set up an interview with two managers or HR people. Then, a few days later, you might get a job offer call. Sometimes it's super fast, like I got my call right after my interview!
