I submitted an online application and a personality assessment. An HR person contacted me to schedule a video interview on Microsoft Teams. The interview was alright, and the interviewer was nice and answered my questions, but she didn't know the job's specifics. I was then given a 10-question writing assignment, with the first half being general and work-specific questions, and the second half involving marketing and copywriting for a picture book manuscript. I had four days to finish it. After sending it back, I never heard anything, and the application system didn't let me email the person directly.

I was given a pretty long editing test where I had to read half a book, edit a chapter, and fill out a questionnaire about my work habits and experience. After that, I had a Skype interview with three people. It felt like a bad sign when they said I'd be talking to four people, but one of them, the HR person, didn't show up. I followed up, but I never heard back from them, which was really rude but unfortunately not that surprising these days.
