Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sorrento Therapeutics.
Scientist
The interview process was pretty smooth and consisted on a first phone screening with the Hiring Manager(~30min) with general questions about scientific background, and interests about the company; then, on-site interview with Hiring Manager and team members (30 minutes/slot, almost 3 hours in total, including PP presentation about technical skills and scientific experience/achievements); the third round was meeting the CEO.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this company?
- Can you discuss your background in science?
- What specifically about our company interests you?
Senior Scientist
The interview process was great. HR was very supportive and efficient. I had a phone interview first, then I was told to have an onsite interview the next day. I gave a presentation of my past studies to the team members and two directors from different groups, followed by one-to-one talks. I also had an interview with the CEO on the same day. Everyone was friendly to ask and answer questions. The whole interview process was pleasant and efficient.
- Can you tell me about your previous experiences?
Scientist
A phone call interview where the interviewer and employer were introduced. We discussed the company culture and the main goals of the role, and my personality fit for the job. It seems there isn't a formal HR stage, as hiring is managed directly by Directors or associate Directors.
- Can you explain the construct of CART and its applications?
