Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sorenson Communications.
Operations Coordinator
The time between interviews was pretty long, and honestly, this was the most awkward interview experience I've ever had. It was over video, and every single question had a negative spin. When I tried to answer positively, one of the interviewers would strongly interrupt, saying I didn't answer the question. If I repeated my answer or asked for clarification, they'd just say the question was self-explanatory. After the interview, I felt more confused than when I started. I didn't get the job, and for about three weeks, I got rejection emails every day, which just brought back memories of that awful interview with all the negative questions. Eventually, I had to block their email to get some peace.
- Can you share a situation where you lost your temper at work?
- Describe the worst action you've taken as an employee.
- Provide an instance where you had to bend the rules to accomplish something.
Operations Coordinator
It was a long process with many video calls that took a really long time. Sometimes someone would sit behind the interviewer while I was on a video call with multiple people. There were long gaps, weeks, between interviews. Overall it was a good experience, though it's tough to get a true sense of people over video without being able to shake hands or make proper eye contact. It's a generally nice interview.
- Are you planning to leave your current job?
Operations Coordinator
First, I had to take a computer skills test before anything else. Then came the interviews, which were fine. Not a ton to say about them. I know this company is known in the deaf community, but from what I've heard from friends, they're not the best place to work, mostly because their tech is super outdated.
- Have you done this kind of work before?
