Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sony.
Administrative Assistant
It seems like they're searching for candidates who already have a ton of experience. They want you to have your master's degree just to be a receptionist. My mind was completely blown. Even with a master's, the starting pay isn't enough to live on. This is NYC, where the cost of living is higher than anywhere else.
- Could you share the most challenging situation you've faced and overcome at work?
Administrative Assistant
It was an easy process with three main steps. The people interviewing me were really nice and chill. I had two interviews total, one with HR and then another with my direct manager. It took about three weeks to hear back about the results.
- Can you tell me why you decided to apply for this job?
- Could you describe your previous role?
- What is your total experience in an administrative assistant role?
Executive Assistant
After sending in my resume, the HR team got in touch to set up a brief introductory call. Then, they scheduled a time for me to meet with the team. During the team interview, I discussed my background, education, past work, learning approach, and leadership style.
- What are your thoughts on tasks that are repetitive but need to be done with accuracy?
