Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sony.
Design Engineer
First, there was an IQ test and a technical test. If you passed, they would set up an interview session with the hiring managers. In this session, they'd inquire about your background, experiences, and the projects you were involved in. For fresh graduates, they would ask about your final year project. If you passed this stage, they would arrange an interview with the department manager. The interview questions in this final session were similar to the previous one.
- Tell me about your background.
- What are your experiences on your current/previous job?
- If you are a fresh graduate, can you tell me about your fyp?
Engineer
It was a long interview process that went on for months. We had 1 general interview, 3 technical interviews, and 1 presentation. The interviewers were really nice, but it took a very long time. The interviews were each between 30 to 90 minutes.
- We started with general questions, and then moved on to several technical interviews.
Design Engineer
There were two interviews. The first was an on-campus interview for fresh graduates, and the second was at Sony EMCS Bangi. They didn't ask any technical questions; all questions were standard interview types. There were three interviewers on the panel, and three candidates were interviewed at the same time. One panel member was from HR, and the other two were from departments related to the job position.
