Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Marketing
I got a call from their recruiting company. The interview was about 30 minutes and she asked basics questions like describe my work experiences, skills, etc. A month later I got an email from the actual department to set up an interview. The interview was also basic with just questions about my past experiences and why Sony and TV. 3 days laters I got a call back to meet with the VP of Marketing, The interview was very basic and just explaining what I'll be doing and what the department does.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Can you describe your past experiences?
- Why do you want to work in Television?
Digital Marketing Executive
It took me a little over 2 months to finish the entire interview process, mostly because my schedule and the interviewers' schedules kept clashing. Throughout it all, the HR person in charge was really patient in trying to sort out the timing conflicts.
- What are your long-term career aspirations for the next 5 years?
Marketing
It was a long interview process, lasting about 3 months for an entry/associate level job. It included three panel interviews and an excel test. I talked to 7 or 8 people in total. HR was nice and accommodating but not very communicative. The job posting said little experience was needed, but during the interviews they said they wanted someone with years of experience, even though they promised training. Overall, the process was okay, but a lot for an entry-level role. The team was friendly, but it seemed like there were many new people and they weren't sure what they were looking for.
- What's your approach to measuring KPIs?
