Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Financial Analyst
It was a pretty laid-back process. The interviewers were really down-to-earth and focused more on personal questions than technical ones. There were two rounds: the first was with a senior manager, and the second was with the team's SVP or VP.
- What attracts you to Sony?
- What interests you about the Entertainment Industry?
Financial Analyst
I applied directly for a Senior Financial Analyst role at Sony Pictures Entertainment via a job board. An HR person from the company reached out to me for a phone screen. Although I applied for the Television division, the HR rep suggested my profile for a different finance division and forwarded my application. I then interviewed with the VP of Finance and after that, the Directors. After that, I was onboarded online.
- What's your approach to developing our budget?
Financial Analyst
It was a pretty straightforward process. Started with a recruiter call, then there were two more rounds where I met with a few people. Each of those interviews was about thirty minutes long. They also gave me a skills test specifically for Microsoft Excel.
- Can you tell me about a past work project where you utilized your analytical skills?
- Tell me about a project from a previous job that showcases your analytical abilities.
