I had an in-person interview that a recruiter set up for me. I met with three senior executives from the department. They were really welcoming and had clearly reviewed my resume and the useful skills for the role.

Got an email from the recruiter on Friday after applying for the job. She set up a phone screening for Monday. It was mostly a getting-to-know-you chat, with a few "Why Sony?" questions. She mentioned she'd talk to the team and get back to me about an in-person interview. About a week and a half later, she reached out for the in-person interview. I met with two directors who were really nice and welcoming. They asked good get-to-know-you questions, which I preferred over those "tell me about a time something went wrong" questions. It seemed to go really well. Fast forward about three weeks, still no word, so I emailed the recruiter. She said no decision had been made yet and that many people were returning from holiday vacations, so she'd follow up and let me know. Two days later, I got an email asking for my references as part of the selection process, but still no offer. I sent them in, and now it's been about two weeks, making it a month and a half since the first interview, and still nothing. I wish they'd send a courtesy email if I didn't get the job, even a generic one. I heard from another review that you have to chase them for the news yourself, which really sucks. It's about courtesy and respecting people's time, including the candidate's.
