It was a bit unconventional. Started with a phone screen with HR, which was normal enough, but then they really drilled down on salary, which was way lower than expected for someone with an MBA from a top school going into Strategy. Then they asked for an onsite, but without covering travel expenses for out-of-state candidates. That was a hard no. The onsite itself began standard, but then they hit me with a McKinsey-style case and a BCG case, involving an estimation question with a bunch of math and a framework for solving problems. I've done cases before, but the complexity was ridiculous given the low pay. It felt like making everyone at McDonald's take the LSAT.

The interview process took a very long 3 months and I went through it twice in different years for very similar jobs. The procedure was so long and the questions were nonsense. I knew I wouldn't accept the offer, but I went through it to keep my skills sharp. A company that takes this long seems to have a lot of red tape, so it's not for me.
