Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sony Electronics.
Intern
The interview process consisted of two rounds: an HR round and a technical round. Both rounds were easier than interviews at other companies I've experienced. The whole process was completed in two weeks.
- Can you tell me about the different technologies you have experience with?
Intern
I applied online and got a call back about a week later. The recruiter was very friendly and casual. She scheduled a phone interview. The phone interview was about a half hour. Then a week went by and I got a call confirming an in-person interview. This consisted of a panel interview, a 1:1, and a skills test. The in-person interview was about 2.5 hours.
- If you were at a party and SONY walked in, how would you describe it?
Intern
I applied online and got a call from HR. They scheduled a face-to-face interview. Two people interviewed me, and they had all my background information on their laptops. They asked me to write C code for string manipulations and checked my knowledge of time and space complexity. There were also some HR questions. I received an offer within two weeks.
