The interview process involved an initial screening with HR for general questions, followed by a meeting with the hiring manager, also for general questions. Then there were three rounds with engineers: one focused on a coding challenge, another on a design challenge, and a final one covering general technical topics. The interview was challenging, with the Python coding question starting simple but having many requirements added, and similarly for the design challenge. The interviewers were helpful and aimed to observe interaction and learning.

Applied to several roles at Sonos and heard back about a month and a half later for a first discussion with a hiring manager. The interview was largely technical, with a parsing exercise and some simple data structure questions. The hiring manager thought I was a better fit for a different team, and said that he would indicate the same to the recruiter - I reached out to the recruiter as well. Sent a couple of follow-up emails to the recruiter over the next 3 weeks and never heard back. My application never left the "Interviewed" state and I was never informed of a decision one way or the other - so I was essentially ghosted. Found it entirely unprofessional to leave someone without any indication of how the interview went.

Applied for a role and during the initial screening call, the recruiter suggested I move forward with that role, and another one that was moving fast. I had multiple calls with the hiring manager for the second role and an onsite interview scheduled for the day before a mass layoff. Unfortunately, HR support was cut for both roles. The slower role then sped up, but they decided to go in a different direction. This was all happening without a public req or job description. A new HR partner reached out later to gather data, and the hiring manager seemed unaware of who they'd be working with. Despite waiting two weeks to follow up, I never heard back. I later saw the role posted publicly. I invested 6-10 hours in interviews and received no response.
