Applied online in November and got an email from a recruiter. They scheduled a phone screen which was canceled last minute, and they said they'd reschedule. I didn't hear back for about two months, but they did reach out again in late January. After two phone screens, they booked me a flight to Seattle to meet the team. I went through several interview rounds, including a quick white board coding question. The team was great and made the process easy and enjoyable. They seemed to be looking for a hands-on QA Lead rather than a QA Manager.

So first we did a product intro in a demo room with Sonos products. Then there was an open discussion around my past experience, skills, and interests, and what I would bring to Sonos. We also talked about why I am interested in Sonos. I mentioned my recent experience with the Sonos Play1 and their customer support when I had a problem during setup.

They didn't ask many difficult questions; I was able to answer most of them. The most surprising part was how they communicated that I wasn't selected for the role. I received an email thanking me for visiting Sonos and then they offered me a discount on their product. It's an unbelievable way to conduct business. I suspect they have trouble hiring senior people due to their Cambridge location. Everyone I interviewed with complained about the commute, though I was fine with it. It's something you should know before you even accept an interview.
