We had a few phone chats to start, then I went for site visits to check out the process and meet the people. There was a round table interview with about 6 managers, and then I toured the facilities to see how things worked and meet more teams.

It started with an internal recruiter reaching out and having a phone chat where we went over the job details and my background. Then I was invited to their HQ for more in-person interviews. I ended up having about 5 interviews with various higher-ups and the recruiter. The interviews were mostly about typical situations, my past work, and asking about me and my future goals. They have a set list of questions, but the more senior the interviewer, the more they went off script. I'd say it was a pretty standard interview difficulty, not too hard, not too easy.

So I applied for the Management Trainee Program at Sonoco Recycling. My first interview was on campus right after the career fair. About three weeks later, I got an email to come to Hartsville, which is where Sonoco's main office is, for another interview. I stayed the night before, and that first night we had dinner and a presentation about the company. The next day, I had my interview with both the plant manager and someone from HR.
