Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sono Bello.
Practice Manager
The interview process was disorganized. The recruiter scheduled an interview, but then changed their mind and wanted me to interview with someone else first. It went through four rounds, each about an hour long. After the fourth interview, I had to email the recruiter for an update. I received a generic email back saying they were going with other candidates.
- They mentioned that while the interview process is long, it's to ensure a good fit, comparing it to marriage.
Practice Manager
I went through 4 phone interviews, then a Skype panel with 4 people. After that, there was a 3-hour "shadow shift" on-site. It was basically listening to the current manager talk about herself and how great the staff thinks she is, and how hard it would be for anyone new to fit in. She spent the whole time bragging about herself and her personal life. It was pretty off-putting, but I was still really interested because I have over 10 years of experience in this field and knew she must be leaving for some reason. After wasting two weeks, they didn't even bother to send an email to decline my candidacy.
- In a given situation scenario presented 10 minutes before the interview, how would you prioritize between a patient, surgeon, sales associate, nurse, and business issues?
Practice Manager
I was hired for the Assistant Practice Manager position. The entire interview process was completed within a 4-day period. I spoke with 4 different people over the phone. As I was the last person hired for our clinic, I was anticipating an in-person interview, but it never occurred. I was hired solely based on the phone interviews, which I was initially okay with. However, I later realized there was crucial information about the position and company that I was not privy to until my first day on the job. For instance, there are supposed to be presentations for staff regarding dress code colors, but I was unaware of this until after I had already bought work clothes. To this day, I haven't seen these presentations.
- Could you describe a challenge you encountered in your previous role and how you addressed it?
