First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Solomon Cordwell Buenz.
Designer
The hiring process moved along pretty quickly. It started with a recruiter call, then there was one round with a leader, and the final interview involved talking with several more senior members of the team. There wasn't any pressure, and I didn't have to do an assignment, so I got the offer pretty soon after.
- Could you tell me about the projects you've worked on?
Designer
This was the most hostile and uncomfortable interview. The interviewer, who was a higher-up and someone I knew professionally, clearly wasn't interested in talking to someone with my experience level.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Interior Designer
I was brought in to interview with some of the senior people in the company at their Chicago office. A recruiter set it up. I got hired pretty fast after that. The interview was on the 7th floor in a conference room. Some people came and went while I was there, but I felt like I met a lot of different people from the interiors department and learned about their roles.
- What career goals do you have?
