So I had this interview at Soliton Technologies back in Feb 2026 through my college placement drive. It's a mid-sized company, about 25 years old, with around 400 employees, mostly focused on semiconductor testing and data management. The salary was around 8-10 LPA after a 1-year internship with a 25k/month stipend. The interview process went like this: Round 1 was a 1-hour common written test for everyone, non-MCQ, covering math, C programming (pointers included), circuit problems, OS (CPU scheduling esp. Round Robin), Computer Networks (propagation time), and Logic Gates/Semiconductors. The key here is showing your steps neatly, not just the answer. I did 6 questions. Round 2 was a short C programming round with 3 problems, you had to solve one to move to the next. I solved 2. Again, showing your thought process on paper was important. Round 3 & 4 were combined Technical and HR. They really check your resume - internships, projects, tech stack, and CS fundamentals. They might also ask you to solve problems you missed in Round 1. Don't panic, explain your thinking. Round 5 was a long C programming round, 3 problems, roughly 3 hours. You explain your approach first, then code. Questions were like Longest Palindrome, LIS. Again, showing your work on paper is crucial. A big issue for me here was a mentor who was short-tempered and didn't admit a test case error, which held me back while others with better mentors moved on. In the end, I was eliminated. Rounds 6 & 7 were Design and Essay writing, sort of like a GD, where you solve a real-world problem as a team, and then an essay. Preparation involves YouTube and school physics/maths. Be aware that some candidates get terminated post-internship with no job offer. For CS folks, their full-stack tech is C#, .Net, Angular, Node.js, but it's heavily tied to semiconductor testing, not typical app dev. No Java! They might use AI for data insights, leaning more towards ECE/EEE. That's my experience, good luck!

So the whole interview thing was pretty in-depth, really getting into the basics. It kicked off with this online coding test, you know, covering data structures, algorithms, and debugging. After I passed that, I had two technical interviews, and then a chat with HR. The technical interviews were all about C/C++ programming, how I approach problems, embedded systems stuff, and some questions about how things work in the real world. They also checked my understanding of system design and memory management. The HR part was more about seeing if I'd fit in and if I was up for working with some specialized technologies. It was tough but a good learning experience overall.
