Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SolidWorks.
Software Engineer Intern
The interview was good. The first call, I talked about my interests and they explained the role. Then there was a technical interview with coding and job-related questions. Lastly, I had an HR call.
- Build a React application to fetch and display data from an API in HTML, and then containerize it using Docker.
Software Engineer
Had a really good experience interviewing with this impressive company. It was a full-day thing, with 10 people interviewing me. The questions weren't too tough. Just be ready to dive deep into your past work and show you've actually used the tech on your resume. The people are great, the work sounds awesome, and the office environment is incredible – not many places have private cabins and pool tables like this.
- Can you discuss your work experiences?
- Demonstrate your experience with technologies listed on your resume.
- A question involving algorithms.
Software Testing Engineer
I had an interview with a designer who knows Solidworks well. There were 3 interview levels. The first level was technical, focusing on Solidworks applications. The second level was also technical, covering any visualization software. I wasn't qualified by the team, so no more interviews were done.
- Can you explain the tools and features of Solidworks in detail, providing an example?
- What is the process for converting file versions?
- Have you tested applications using API, particularly with MACROs?
