I met with the hiring manager for about an hour, and it was a great chat. She then connected me with her boss, who also spent about an hour discussing the company and the role. They were still figuring out the exact setup for the position and said they would be in touch. About two weeks later, a recruiter reached out to go over my goals and needs and explained the logistical parts of the job. After that, I had a second conversation with the hiring manager, and she offered me the role. She mentioned I could meet more team members, but I accepted verbally since I had a good feeling. I got a written offer within two hours and signed it three days later after some negotiation. I was really happy with how fast everything moved, as I've had some really slow hiring experiences recently.

The interview process was pretty straightforward: TA, hiring manager, and then the team. The TA and hiring manager interviews were standard. The team interview was also pretty standard, but had a bit more technical and behavioral focus. I liked that they didn't ask about acronyms. It was a good mix of personality and problem-solving questions. The whole process was really quick, about a week from start to finish, which was unique and appreciated. This might be specific to my role, and maybe different for other teams, but hopefully, other interview processes are like this.

So first I had a recruiter call, then a first round behavioral interview. After that, I had a second round where I was asked to answer some thoughtful questions offline and send them in. Then, two more behavioral-type interviews with the hiring manager. The whole thing was pretty transparent and fair, and it really felt like they were checking for fit for the role, plus it was a good way to learn about the company and the people.

The whole process, from when the job was posted to when I accepted the offer and started, was amazing. It's clear the leaders and HR put a lot of effort into hiring. The job description was accurate, reflecting the company culture and the role itself. There were three interviews: an initial phone screen, a one-on-one with the hiring manager, and a panel interview with team members. The time from the first interview to the offer was under 3 weeks. Starting was smooth too. HR was great with communication about getting equipment for my remote role and what to expect. The HR/payroll/benefits system made new hire paperwork easy and was straightforward to use. In my first week, HR checked in to make sure everything was okay, and I heard there's more formal training coming up. Having worked in this industry for 30 years, this was one of the best hiring experiences I've had.
