First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SolarCity.
Project Specialist
It was unethical, time-consuming, and they were liars. They eventually admitted to their sketchy recruitment processes after I called them out. The job titles and salaries kept changing and didn't match what others posted. They tried to get me to take a sales role for less pay with commission, but I know those Project Specialist and Trainer roles didn't exist and were just call center jobs with different titles. They knew I figured them out and gave me the assessment, which was for a call center position. I told them how unprofessional and deceitful they were.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Why are you interested in this position?
Project Specialist
I had several calls with recruiters, then I had to answer some questions via email and complete an assessment. After that, I was invited to a group interview the following week where I met with two different groups of managers.
- Tell me about a situation where you had difficulty meeting a deadline and explain the steps you took to ensure it was met.
Project Specialist
I initially got screened at a job fair, and then within two days, I got two emails from different people. They asked me to do two online assessments. The day after that, I was invited for a phone interview the following week. After the phone interview, they asked if I could come in for a group interview the next morning, which I did. There were 11 other people there, and we were there for 3 hours.
- What skills do you possess that would qualify you for this role?
