I met with Justin Ries at the Wilmington office. I think I really made it clear how much I want to do great in this job. I've been doing so well in my current role for years, and I know that experience would have been great for helping the planet become more green. I know solar is a growing technology and it's going to make the world way more efficient. We can't keep relying on fossil fuels forever, and I wanted to be a part of the solar revolution that's bound to happen. I ended up doing most of the talking because the interview was only 30 minutes, and I needed to get my qualifications and passion for the job across as quickly as possible. Justin didn't give me any indication that the interview went poorly. I was bummed that I couldn't follow up with Justin to talk about where I fell short and what I could do better or what experience I need to get to be a good hire. After looking into working at SolarCity online, I saw that most people think the management is inexperienced and not very good at leading. Honestly, I think my skills, experience, and sales success would have been a perfect fit for the job. Maybe I'm missing something, I just wish I could have gotten feedback from Justin to figure out what that might be.

I uploaded my resume on their website and heard back from a junior recruiter in a few days. The process moved quickly after that and involved: - A phone interview with the junior recruiter. - An online automated assessment for personality and intelligence. - A phone interview with a senior recruiter. - A face-to-face interview with the region sales manager. - The next step is a face-to-face interview with the region sales director. - Lastly, there will be a drug test and background check. Everyone has been very kind and intelligent, a pleasure to interact with.

It was brief and to the point, informative. They got my background and relation to the role, checked if I wanted to be part of their team, and saw if I could follow their business model. The interviewer was open and answered questions about compensation, sales style, and required responsibilities.
