I applied online on June 16th. Got an email June 23rd for a Phone Interview on June 24th. I let them know I could only do Thursdays or Fridays due to my schedule. The next day, they responded with availability for Thursday, June 26th, at either 11:30 am or 1:30 pm. I picked 11:30 am. The phone interview was with Erin on June 26th at 11 am, it was pretty smooth. She first explained SolarCity and asked if I knew anything about them. Then she asked interview questions like explaining my resume, my strengths and weaknesses, why I want to work for SolarCity, and what I can bring to the role. It lasted about 30 minutes. At the end, she mentioned scheduling a face-to-face interview with two panelists and that an email would be sent to complete attachments. On July 7th, I got the email for the F2F interview on Thursday, July 10th, at 9 am. On the interview day, I found the location easily. The front desk staff were nice and helpful. I signed in and they told my interviewers I was there and offered water. I waited maybe 10-12 minutes. Jes and Ad came out, were friendly, shook my hand, and made me feel at ease. We went to a separate interview room. Jes explained more about SolarCity, the work hours, days, benefits, and the general operations. The interview questions included hypothetical scenarios and lasted about 45-50 minutes. I left feeling good but unsure. On Friday, July 11th, around 11 am, Erin called to congratulate me on the position and wanted me to start July 22nd. Since that didn't work, I asked if another training class was available, and she mentioned August 4th. I accepted that start date. Soon after, I received emails for my Offer Letter, References, and Background check. I've submitted all the required signatures and references through their system. That's where I'm at now, waiting for August 4th, 2014.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I put in my application online for a Customer Care Specialist job out in Las Vegas. About a week and a half later, they invited me to this candidate mixer thing. It was pretty big, with like 100 people trying to talk to the 8 Customer Care supervisors. We had to go from table to table. You'd kinda have to jump in when there was a break in the conversation to hand over your resume and say a little about yourself. Some supervisors asked everyone the same questions like 'tell me about yourself,' 'what's your phone support experience,' and 'why Solar City?' but others just took the resume and that was it. I made sure to follow up with everyone at the end of the mixer, which I think helped. The next day, a recruiter called to see if I could come in for an in-person interview that same week. This interview was with one of the supervisors from the mixer and her manager, someone I hadn't met. It was mostly about personality and how I'd handle different customer service situations. Like, what would you do if a customer immediately wants to talk to a manager? I told them to be empathetic, try to resolve it yourself, and only transfer if they really insist, making sure to get all their info first. After that, they called later the same day with a job offer, but then rescinded it after the background check because I have a misdemeanor, and the application only asked about felonies.

I was contacted by a recruiter who was super fast with everything. I got confirmation for a face-to-face interview within 12 hours. I met with two interviewers at a really nice mall. The interview went well, and I thought I was a perfect fit. I felt I brought everything they could possibly need and more. I heard back a few hours later saying I didn't get the job, which was very disappointing.
