The interview was pretty chill and easy, which made it a lot less stressful. It felt structured but not too rigid. Everyone was really nice and easy to talk to, which definitely helped calm my nerves. They started by just chatting to get to know me, more like a normal conversation than an interrogation. The questions were on point but not super technical or difficult. They seemed more interested in how I approach things than if I had perfect answers.

I applied for the Chef position through a Gumtree advert and received a phone call within two days. Following that, I was invited for an unpaid trial day. During this trial, I worked alongside a chef who was departing the company. He provided feedback to the head chef about my performance, which led to a job offer. The details about the pay were only disclosed after the trial day concluded.

I interviewed with William Baines, who was very professional and personable. He projected confidence, motivating me to perform at my best to secure the role. The job description he provided during the interview accurately reflected the actual experience of working at Soho House. He was genuine, striking a good balance between speaking (about the company, job, etc.) and listening (to my work history, what I seek in an employer, etc.). It was a great interview overall, and Will is a fantastic manager.
