The interview process had 4 rounds. The first round was a face-to-face technical interview at Softway Solutions. They asked me about OOPS concepts, C# programming, and my past projects. It was of moderate difficulty. After passing the first round, I had a second round with the CTO. He asked a main technical question about a real-world app development issue involving a web service component and how I would solve it. Other than that, it was more like an HR interview where he gave career advice. The third round was a standard HR interview with typical questions. During this round, I found out about a mandatory 2-year bond that the company requires. I mentioned I needed to think about it. The fourth round was unexpected and not technical or HR-related. They called me specifically to discuss my decision on the 2-year bond. When I declined, they tried to convince me to accept at least an 18-month bond. My feedback on the process is that asking candidates to sign a bond before the offer letter is not ideal. It would be better to have the agreement signed on the first day of joining, after the offer letter has been released. Also, reducing the agreement period to 1 year or 18 months would be better.

Technical Case Behavioral System Design

So I interviewed with Softway for a Web Engineer role. The whole process had 3 main stages. What was cool is that the Talent Acquisition lead would chat with me before each stage, tell me what to expect, how to prep, and give me feedback from the last one. First up was the Talent Acquisition Lead. Then I had a round with the Technical Leads. The final round was with the HR manager and the Director of Operations, which was more of a behavioral chat. After clearing all those, they had me come into the office for a whole day to hang out with the team and see the engineering challenges they're tackling.

First, there was a group discussion or a 1-minute talk where topics like current affairs and technology were given on the spot. Then, a technical aptitude test for 45 minutes with 40 questions covering C, C++, program outputs, Database and SQL DBA, OOPS concepts, and basic engineering curriculum. After that, a computer program test for 30 minutes where you had to execute and show the output for patterns, series, etc., using C, C++, or Java. This was followed by technical rounds, managerial rounds, and an HR round, all face-to-face at the Softway Solutions office.
