First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Software Technology Group (UT).
Software Engineer
I applied online and then got contacted. First, there was a phone screening that led to another recruiter. This recruiter gave me two multiple-choice assessments. After that, they scheduled another Google Meets interview, but they didn't show up and I never heard back.
- Can you explain the difference between useEffect and useLayoutEffect?
Software Developer
Had an initial interview that was set up by phone and confirmed via email. The first interview was with an HR recruiter. It was a relaxed, friendly chat, not a tough interview. The interviewer talked about the company's history, why the CEO started it, and how he values employees. I got a tour of the place and heard about the work environment and how it's employee-friendly. I was told there would be a follow-up technical phone interview with development staff later. The technical phone interview hasn't been scheduled yet, but it's only been a week.
- What are your 5-year career goals with this company?
Senior Software Developer
The interview was in person and had pretty standard questions. It was a conversational interview, and the interviewer was friendly and spent a good amount of time discussing the company. After the company interviews, you have to do interviews with clients, which seemed to take a while and had communication issues. It wasn't as bad as working with a temp agency though.
- Can you tell me about a time you had a challenging experience working with a team?
