Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SoftRock.
Copywriter
It started with a phone interview, then I had to do an unpaid 8 hour "work day" interview. They told me I got the job, led me on, and then never started me. This "company" is a total unethical scam.
- Do you have experience scamming people?
Copywriter
I found the job on OrlandoJobs.com. The hiring manager called within 3 days of me applying to set up an interview for the next day. An hour before, I got an email saying it would be a general interview followed by a 1-hour copywriting test. The general interview was pretty much the manager reviewing my resume with me. I wasn't asked many questions, and it was super short, under 10 minutes. She then explained the job and the test instructions. After that, I was taken to a room and given a laptop for the 1-hour copywriting test. I had to choose and write 6 short job ads from a list of 30 long ones, and explain my choices. Once done, the manager came back and asked how I felt about the test and my first thoughts on the company. They said I'd hear back soon.
- Regarding your limited work experience...

So for the Copywriter job, first I had to do a timed writing test. It was a good way to see if I could do the job. After the test, I chatted with the department manager for about 15-20 minutes. He called me about a week later with an offer, and I did all the hiring paperwork on my first day. The whole thing was pretty straightforward.
- Can you tell me about your education?
- What experience do you have?
- How would you describe your work habits?
