I applied for the specialist role on Indeed and was asked to call a rep. The rep asked me some questions, like the ones I ask my clients, and was friendly. She scheduled my interview for a Friday afternoon at my convenience. I got there early and noticed everyone dressed up for a holiday. A receptionist greeted me and let my interviewer know I was there. After watching a video and filling out a short form, I was invited into an office. I answered some required questions and was then offered a tour. I loved it immediately and am excited to join this great team that helps people with their applications.

I've never been 'offered' a position this many times in my career. Everything feels like a step behind what it actually is. Like, training is really happening during orientation, and orientation is happening during something they call a 'test drive.' So many people are talking to so many hiring managers, it's impossible for them to get to know everyone interviewing. The employment is based on whether you pass the script test and finish bootcamp. They market bootcamp as 'training,' but it's actually 57 and then 42 hours of working for them for two weeks at minimum wage. All the training happens during 'orientation,' when you're really just studying the script.

The interview process spanned three days, preceded by an initial phone call. The final day, referred to as the "test drive," was an all-day event on Friday that included attending the weekly BBQ and observing a training group's graduation. It was unclear whether the aim was to assess candidates for hiring or to persuade them about the company, which was unusual. Candidates were then instructed to call on Monday to learn about the hiring decision.

So for the Copywriter job, first I had to do a timed writing test. It was a good way to see if I could do the job. After the test, I chatted with the department manager for about 15-20 minutes. He called me about a week later with an offer, and I did all the hiring paperwork on my first day. The whole thing was pretty straightforward.
