First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Softcrylic.
Python Developer
The first round was a technical round where they asked about Python functions and SQL. Then there was a second round with HR where they asked normal HR questions like when I finished college, except for salary.
- What do you know about simple functions and class objects?
- Can you explain basic SQL queries?
- When did you complete college?
Account Executive
There were 5 rounds in total. First was HR, where they introduced job openings and technical rounds. Technical 1 was about basic accounting questions and previous roles and responsibilities. Technical 2 was about Excel knowledge for reporting purposes. Technical 3 was with the accounts manager, where they asked about roles and responsibilities, tested my knowledge on their requirements, and asked technical questions. The final round was negotiation.
- Can you explain the invoice process?
- What kind of reports do you create for stakeholders and customers?
- What are the different types of invoices?
Analyst
I am a fresher from a Tier 1 college, contacted through Naukri. The interview had 4 rounds: 1 SQL+Excel MCQ test (20 questions), 2 technical (Python basics) + 1 HR interview. The people were nice, the HR was friendly, and the whole process was smooth, taking less than 2 weeks. Everything was good until the offer stage. The manager discussed salary and mentioned a 2-year bond, which wasn't disclosed earlier. The salary package was shocking and way below expectations, making me feel undervalued. 2.4 LPA for a Tier 1 grad after multiple rounds is very low, especially for Chennai. They offer this after 3 months of training on basic data analytics tools, which isn't necessary as skilled candidates can learn on the job. Avoid mentioning growth or onsite opportunities as they aren't guaranteed. Suggestions: 1) Offer better salaries based on skills for good candidates, as Tier 1 grads and even data entry workers earn more. Also, provide relocation bonuses for costly cities like Chennai. 2) Hire locally from colleges if budgets are low, as the training is provided anyway. This saves time and finds satisfied candidates. 3) Disclose bond contracts before interviews to save everyone time. 4) The job description was poor, showing Data Scientist on Naukri but interviewing for an analyst role.
- Questions were asked on SQL joins, the where and having clause, DDL, DML, etc., and pivot tables in Excel.
- There was a question about the difference between list vs array and tuple vs list.
- I was asked about my knowledge of Python libraries.
Software Engineer
The interview process was really challenging, with 4 rounds. First, there was an aptitude test which is really tough and shows your real ability. Then there was an optional GD. After that, a Technical HR round where they asked questions on OOPS concepts. Finally, a coding test where you could use your choice of language like Java, C, C++, .Net, or any other.
- Be familiar with your programming language (Java in my case) from the basics. Know the definition of every topic clearly. Also, OOPS concepts.
- Programming Language basics
- OOPS concepts
