It went pretty well with some basic questions. Since I'm a student worker, the interviews were a bit easier, but it ended on a positive note and I was happy with how things went.

The interview process started with an application, followed by a phone screening. Then there was an interview with HR, and finally a final interview. The online interview with the HR person was the point where I decided not to proceed. It was on Teams and she didn't turn on her camera even though mine was on. Is that what recruiters think is okay?

I applied online and about two weeks later, I got a call from someone asking about my skills and interests. She also asked a weird question about what values I find most important for business, which threw me off a bit. She then submitted my name to the hiring manager. A week later, I had an online interview with HR and the head of the department I would be working with. It was a very conversational interview. HR explained the job, which mainly involves updating the website. The department head went through my resume and asked a bunch of questions about my articles and campus radio show, even searching for proof of its existence. After seeing my show, they both read one of my articles. He asked for more writing samples, which I'm used to sending, but I felt it would be more professional if it was included in the application process. The interview ended well with goodbyes and thank yous. I sent them both the two articles with another thank you via email. Two weeks later, I received a nicely worded inspirational rejection.
