I applied online via LinkedIn. The first step was a quick call with an HR person to talk about the company and what I'm looking for (career goals and salary). Then, I had a second interview with the hiring manager who explained the role in more detail and asked about my professional background. The process ended with them telling me my profile was interesting but not selected for the position, without giving any specific reasons.

First up, there's an HR interview, could be a phone screen. They'll check your CV stuff like education, experience, if you're willing to move. They want to get your career plan and see if you're really into SNCF and this specific job. It's about 30-45 minutes and can be remote or in person, handled by an HR recruiter. Then, you'll have a technical/job-specific interview. This is to make sure you've got the skills for the role, can handle the actual work (weird hours, safety, working alone), and how you'd react in certain situations, maybe with some real-life scenarios. This one is with your future boss and maybe a subject matter expert from the team (like a track technician, driver, station agent, or support staff).

The interview process was intuitive, quick, and efficient, with direct questions. They don't waste time with feedback; if they want you, they'll let you know within 5 business days after the interview. A unique aspect of their contact method is that I believe the structure recruits very good HR professionals.
