Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SNCF.
M&A Manager
They put a lot of pressure to do interviews really fast, including on-site and asking for a lot of reactivity (which is ok). I passed 3 interviews in 1 1/2 months including on-site. Ended the last interview saying "do not expect a quick answer, we want to have a deep view of the market" and then 2 months without any feedback. What's the point on rushing a candidate if you want to take your time?
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?
- What specific aspects of this position are you seeking that are absent in your current job?
Service Manager
The interview process involved a logic test and a practical management case. This was followed by two interviews with N1 and N2 managers, and then with the head of HR and an HR consultant. The first interview focused on the job role with situational questions, and the HR part was mainly a debrief of the assessment tests.
- Why SNCF?
Assistant Manager
First, a phone interview to really understand the job description. Then, a very standard interview with two managers. They responded very quickly. It was a classic procedure, and I signed the contract quickly.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
