SNCF Engineer Interview Questions
& Process

First, I had an interview with a team member, then with the manager. After that, there was a half-day recruitment session. It included individual interviews, logic tests, personality tests, and literature tests. The order of these stages could vary.

My first interview was a video call with the two managers from Marseille. I wasn't clear on what they were looking for or the training. For an electrical engineering position (4 years of experience), they only offered 35k/year. The second interview was a group session, either at the Saint Denis office or via video call. I chose to go to Saint Denis. I checked my phone during this simulation because no one told me not to. I found out that the two recruitment consultants (external, not SNCF employees) spoke negatively about me to the managers. The third interview was an individual session with one of the consultants who was present during the group simulation. He wasted my time for nothing and continued the process even though he and the managers in Marseille had already decided not to hire me.

The interview had a nice, professional vibe. The recruiters were attentive and took time to get to know me. I got to talk about my motivations and skills. I feel good about the rest of the hiring process.
