Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Snap.
Technical Recruiter
My interview experience was okay, but leaned negative. The hiring manager seemed cool, but the team was meh. Most interviews felt way too casual. I talked with HRBP, recruiting managers, and senior recruiters. The first step wasn't even an interview, just a chat with the hiring manager. The second person I met was super informal, almost inappropriately so, with lots of swearing and talking about their time at Snap in a way that suggested they don't really prioritize the candidate experience. The third interviewer was nice, seemed like a good person, and we had a solid, engaging conversation. The fourth person was pretty standard, asking typical behavioral questions. The fifth interview was the worst – it was at the end of the day, and they seemed totally distracted, talking to their spouse on camera a few times and clearly not paying attention, even asking the same questions twice. A few days later, I got a generic rejection email from the recruiter for recruiters, which really left a bad taste in my mouth. They didn't bother to call or personalize the email much beyond my name. The whole thing really showed me how they view candidates, and I don't think it would have worked out even if I'd gotten an offer.
- Standard behavioral questions, sourcing questions, and questions about relationship management were asked.
Recruiter
My recruiter, Tony Riggins, was super knowledgeable about the company and benefits. The whole process, from the first chat to the offer, was done in just 2 weeks! He was really on top of things, always available for questions, and made it easy. There were 3 rounds: a recruiter screen, a call with the hiring manager, and then a 3-hour virtual on-site interview. I got the offer two days after the on-site. The team was awesome, and I really liked how fast everything moved. Tony really knew his stuff and had a lot of experience.

Recruiter
I had high hopes for Snap and met with 5 nice people on the team, so I was surprised by how the process went. I had to follow up with my recruiter for almost a month for feedback. The first time I was told I'd hear back in a couple days, but I didn't hear back for two weeks. Then I followed up again and was told they were still interviewing others. After another two weeks of no contact, I followed up again only to find out they hired someone else. It's okay I wasn't selected, but it makes me wonder if I ever would have gotten any info on my application had I not reached out. It also gives me a glimpse into their recruitment process, which seems unorganized. Super disappointing.
