Account Executive
So I started with a quick call from the recruiter, like 20-30 mins, just to see if I was qualified, interested, and a good cultural fit. Then I had a longer chat with the hiring manager, about 45-60 mins, where we really dug into my skills, how I solve problems, and my understanding of the role, using some case studies. After that, I met with a panel of team members. They all talked to me, asking questions about my technical skills, how I interact with people, and if I'd fit in. The last part was a sales pitch I had to give, to show how well I can communicate, know the product, and convince people.
- What makes you want to join Snapchat?
Account Executive
I had three rounds of interviews over the phone with different people. I spoke with managers, some of my potential peers who are also account executives, and someone from HR recruiting. They asked me how I would suggest a business could use Snapchat ads and what ideas I could come up with.
- What is your understanding of Snapchat ads?
- Can you explain how you would advise a business to utilize Snapchat ads?
- What innovative ideas can you propose for the use of Snapchat ads?
Account Executive
I was contacted by a recruiter for an Account Executive position. First, I had a preliminary chat with the recruiter, followed by a 1:1 with a Group Director/VP. Then, there were 4 hours of interviews with about 6 different account managers/executives. One of those interviews involved presenting a deck I created about a specific media planning scenario. This whole process felt extremely long and could be shorter to respect people's time, especially those currently working. I tried to get feedback after not getting an offer, but was told they couldn't provide any, which made the whole thing feel like a wasted effort. I also had to chase them up a few times after being ignored and rejected.
- Tell me about the general media industry.
- What's your take on the future of Snap?
- How do you handle optimizations and campaign management?
