First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Snap-on.
Software Developer
An agency in Cork set up my interview. A product manager and a senior software developer interviewed me. I was told beforehand it would be a 40-minute technical interview. If I passed this, the next step was an interview with HR, which would involve some personality tests. This was at their office in Northpoint Business Park, Cork. Nice place. The interview itself was quite relaxed and informal, more like a chat. They use agile methodology, which they explained, and the interview focused on processes, like design processes. I think this is why I didn't proceed, as I haven't used formal design process methodologies.
- What are the different types of SQL joins and can you explain what each one does?
Software Engineer
The interview process consisted of three rounds. The first round was technical, focusing on PL/SQL queries and fundamental concepts. The second round was an HR interview where I was asked standard questions about my motivation for joining Snapon. The third round was a techno-managerial interview that lasted only 5 minutes, despite a 2-hour wait. The interviewer briefly reviewed my resume and asked a few general questions, including some performance tuning questions.
- What questions do you have related to performance tuning that were difficult with 3 years of experience?
Senior Software Engineer
The calls were 30 minutes long, but then I was ghosted for about a month. I only found out I was rejected when I asked for an update. It was a really disappointing experience.
- Can you discuss your experience from your CV?
- How do your skills match the requirements in the job description?
