Graduate Trainee
The hiring process took three months. It involved several rounds, and unfortunately, I was rejected after the final one. They flew us out to California for this last stage, where we interviewed alongside other candidates. It felt strange to tour the company building/factory with all the graduates if they weren't planning to hire them. That seems like something that should happen after hiring someone.

- What motivated your interest in this company?
Graduate Trainee
I received an email for a virtual interview, which had around 5-6 questions about my experience and what I'd contribute. After that, there was a day with multiple interviews with senior management and a group activity. It wasn't too difficult. I got a call back later that week with an offer.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What makes you want to work for Smurfit Kappa?
Graduate Trainee
The 3rd round interview was a competitive one, with only 7 out of 12 candidates securing jobs. It included a standard behavioral interview, a group business case exercise, and a quick one-minute response to a panel of important people.
- Can you tell me about three of your weaknesses?
