The interview process for this entry-level architect position was pretty standard. They didn't ask super tough questions; it felt more like they were checking if I'd fit the company culture. I did have to present my portfolio and talk about problems I solved, team dynamics, and things like that from my past projects.

I applied online for this job out of state and had a video interview. It felt really positive. But then I heard nothing back, not even after I sent a nice follow-up and another email asking about the job's status. I can't recommend this place to anyone if they can't even be polite back to an applicant. It's not worth your career, time, and effort to work with companies like this.

  • Have you collaborated effectively with colleagues in an office setting and also with external consultants?

A contact told me about openings at SmithGroupJJR for project architects and project managers. I sent my resume and other details by email, and then set up an interview for Friday afternoon. I got a tour of the office and then met with my contact and another manager. Looking back, I wish I'd thought more about what I was looking for in my next job, as it would have made the conversation more productive.
